Today we went to a little spa to order lunch. On the outside there were lots of flowers. Next, we started driving to twin waterfalls. The waterfalls were right next to each other. Next, we went to the Devil’s Cauldron. At the Devil’s Cauldron there is a big waterfall. There are a few places to look at it. I went to the closest viewing point to the waterfall, and on my way back to where the trail was, on the last step I banged my knee. It hurt for the next ten minutes, then I was fine. Then we went back to the spa for lunch. I had great cake, chicken, and soup. Next, we had a long drive on the mountain. We saw a vicuna. A vicuna is related to a llama. We arrived at the Llama Museum. It explained reasons llamas are important to the people. Next we arrived at a museum with artifacts. There were lots of pieces of art of Jesus Christ. Last we arrived at our hacienda hotel. We had a nice dinner of soup, pasta, and a milk cake.

Today is our last day of our tour to Cuenca, Ecuador. Our first stop was a sunflower place with great empanadas. After that we switched drivers and guides so our original driver and guide could get back to Quito. Our next stop was at an Incan ruin, Inga Pirca. There was a giant temple far away. There were lots of neat stones. There was a stone to kill the llamas. Another with holes and lots of theories on how it was used. One theory is to hold water to see the reflections of stars. Another theory is to see the shadows of the water. One last theory, to grind items. In the area there were lots of "Inca walls". When you are far away from the temple the gaps between the rocks are larger, the closer you get the gaps are smaller. At the temple there are no gaps. Finally when you get to the temple it is perfect. After that we had lunch in the van. It was chicken nuggets, corn, and potatoes. Next, we were in Cuenca and arrived at our hotel. Our hotel is nice. We got to our room. We watched soccer, and I did homework. After that, we had dinner. For dinner we had bread, fruit, meat, and cheese. Today was a fun day.

This place sounds amazing! How old were the ruins? After looking at that giant rock I'm sure glad I was never an Incan llama!! Dena
ReplyDeleteChristopher: The ruins were built in the 1500's. Clark: The Incans defeated the Canari 70 years prior to the Spanish arrival, so the mid-late 1500's.
