Portland --> Amsterdam --> Kigali (Rwanda) --> Entebbe, Uganda. Lake Victoria is just outside the hotel. It is beautiful. At least the photos on the web are spectacular.
We arrived 10:30 PM local time (dark). It is 4:30 AM now (dark). In an hour, breakfast, and back to the airport (I am expecting it to be dark) to catch a flight to Bwindi National Reserve, our first real stop.
Biggest scare so far - when we pulled this computer out, it went into a forced operating system update. Sat with the spinning disk for 15minutes (no progress bar). Losing the computer on the first day would have been a disappointment.
Then I found I couldn't edit the blog. Jana finally remembered the password (it had not been autosaved on this device).
This entry is not much more than a test of the system.
