After leaving Tsavo West, we were driven through Maasai country to Amboseli National Park, in Kenya near the border of Tanzania, with Mount Kilamanjaro serving as the backdrop.
The drive was fascinating - Maasai herding their livestock, and the school children waving at the van. I wish we had taken more photos along the drive. We arrived at Amboseli at approximately 4PM, in time for the afternoon game-drive. With the open plains, it is impossible to miss the larger animals. We saw lions, elephants (including a herd crossing the road), our first wildebeests, our first hyena and all forms of antelope.
