After breakfast, we started our day-long excursion. We drove to a very small lagoon with birds. We walked down one side of the lagoon. We saw 20 flamingos! We got back in the car, and drove to another place to walk. We walked to a place, with a great view of the mountain. We also went to a waterfall called Salto Grande or Big Jump. On the way, we got in 70 mph winds! One of the people in our group got picked up by the wind! At the Salto Grande there were big winds. The waterfall was very impressive.
We walked back to the bus, and drove to a little museum. In the museum it talked about ecosystems. There were also maps of Torres del Paine National Park. At the museum we had lunch. I had a roast beef sandwich and some juice. It tasted good. We started driving and stopped at a place with glaciers and icebergs. We walked half a mile to a sand flat with a lake. At the end of the lake was a glacier. The glacier was huge! Also floating in the lakes were icebergs. These icebergs were blue! This is because, all the ice is packed together so tightly the reflection of color is different. The icebergs were even more amazing up close. There was a piece of land that went very close to them with a viewing point. These icebergs were awesome! JJ We started driving back to the hotel. We got back, and had dinner. I had a BLT! J It tasted great! We got back to the room and slept.

Today was a travel day. After breakfast, we got in the bus to head to the El Calafate airport. We drove for an hour and a half, and arrived at the border of Argentina and Chile. We had to wait two hours for our next driver. He was late. We started driving, and arrived at the El Calafate airport 15 minutes before our flight left. We had to go through security and drop off our luggage. We almost missed our flight.L We arrived in Buenos Aires. We got picked up, and was dropped off at our hotel. We had dinner. I had a very good soup. We went to find a cash machine, and walked through town. We got back to the hotel, and slept.
